Radio Ohrid was established in 1957, 40 years ago, on the initiative of the Ohrid City Council. Initially, it operated within the Open University, and after that within the Cultural Centre.

On 3rd April 1969 in the Municipal Conference of the Socialistic Alliance, the Alliance, as the founder of the Ohrid Radio, passed a decision according to promote the Radio into a separate information organization.

Today the Ohrid Radio broadcasts a 24-hour programme; of which 15 hours per day in-house production. The central information programme is "The news", broadcasted at 4:30 P.M. The signal of the Ohrid Radio covers the municipalities of Ohrid, Struga, Resen, and part of the Republic of Albania.

This information organization has developed a sound cooperation with the Macedonian Radio, Deutsche Welle and BBC World Service. Programme in Macedonian language is broadcasted each day on Deutsche Welle, and news in Macedonian language are broadcasted on BBC at 8:30 and at 11:00 A.M., and at 5:30 and 8:00 P.M., Monday to Friday. The programme "Beyond the Titles" is broadcasted at 7:00 P.M. on Mondays, and "European Panorama" at 9 P.M. on Wednesdays.

The Super Radio has been broadcasting since 1992 and is one of the first three commercial radios in Macedonia. It broadcasts 24-hours a day, in stereo, talk-programmes, music, entertainment, and current affairs, primarily in Macedonian, and occasionally also in Vlah language. During the summer (June, July, August) it also has programmes in English, German, French, and Dutch. The central current affairs programme is "16-16". The number of the potential audience is up to 200,000 in the wider region of Lake Ohrid, including the centres such as Ohrid, Struga, and Pogradec, Albania. The "Express Radio" is a commercial radio station that broadcasts daily, from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 A.M. The radio is focused on covering sport events in the region of Ohrid and Struga. It also broadcasts current affairs primarily targeting the tourists staying in Ohrid.

Macedonian folk and pop music is played on the frequency of Express Radio.

The commercial radio "MH Studio" started on 25th December 1997. It broadcasts daily from 9 A.M. till midnight, predominately entertainment and leisure contents. Occasionally, current affairs of the municipalities of Ohrid and Struga are broadcasted.

The commercial television "TVM" started broadcasting its programme on 26th January 1992. The programme is on from 4 P.M. to 1 A.M., and it is predominately entertainment, leisure, and current affairs.

At TVM the news bulletin is broadcasted at 4 P.M. each day, while the central news programme is transmitted in 7 P.M.

NTV- Ohrid was established in 1996. Today it covers 80% of the territory of Ohrid. Installment of a transmitter mast is planned for the near future, which will cover the whole territory of the municipality of Ohrid.

This Television produces 13 hours in-house programmes with an emphasis on increasing the quantity of current affairs programmes. The programme includes the items from the spheres of politics, economy, and sports, always leaving space for entertainment and leisure.
